Message a bad idea to run 93 octane pump gas every once in a while. They also suspect that the black goo is more of a problem if you have a lot of the original rubber lines in the car. I'm not saying I agree with this, as there is a debate on where the black goo originates.

I suspect the "black goo" is perhaps a regional problem. I haven't heard of any issues in Texas with it...
